@dwanneruchi could you update to the latest conda and latest navigator to check again? Pleas open the Anaconda Prompt and type

I had done the conda update conda....not the second line though. Just tried this: (C:\Users\david\AppData\Local\Continuum\Anaconda3) C:\Users\david>conda update anaconda-navigator Package plan for installation in environment C:\Users\david\AppData\Local\Continuum\Anaconda3: The following packages will be downloaded:
The following packages will be UPDATED:
Proceed ([y]/n)? y Fetching packages ... I am now able to successfully open anaconda navigator. So was the issue just that my anaconda-navigator was not running 1.5.1? Thanks for your help! |
@dwanneruchi 1.5.1 contains some hotfixes so we just might have fixe that one :-) Cheers |
So, I had the same issue last night where it hung at the start, eventually opened up, and then just stopped working. I restarted my computer a few times (there was a mandatory install for my dell) and then was eventually able to get anaconda navigator up & running. Now I am running into a situation where I can't open anaconda navigator or the anaconda prompt. I just did another restart and the issue still persists. Any idea why this might be happening? Things worked well after I updated to 1.5.1 so curious what might be happening. |
I'm having the same issue. (C:\Users\teus_\Anaconda3) C:\Users\teus_>conda list packages in environment at C:\Users\teus_\Anaconda3:_license 1.1 py35_1 (C:\Users\teus_\Anaconda3) C:\Users\teus_>conda infoconda list Did you mean one of these? Did you mean one of these? |
I am facing exactly the same problem! The problem started I have run the followed two commands! I ran them because, spyder disappeared from anaconda navigator home page, so I thought by running these I can upgrade to latest version of anaconda. |
(C:\Anaconda3) C:\Anaconda3>conda list --show-channel-urls packages in environment at C:\Anaconda3:_license 1.1 py36_1 defaults |
(C:\Anaconda3) C:\Anaconda3>anaconda-navigator |
any help on this will be greatly appreciated |
You have a connection timeout here by the look of it. I don't think this is something we can fix. You are also using a lot of old packages, another run of |
Thanks for your quick response, Ray. I have tried conda update anaconda, but still the same issue persists! conda update --all, does it overwrite multiple environments that I have been running under anaconda3 so far? Thanks once again for your help. |
|
Thanks, Ray. I shall try update all option now. |
Hello I am having the same issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Anaconda Navigator, updated packages, Conda and Anaconda and nothing is working. This is what I get when I type 'anaconda-navigator': Traceback (most recent call last): |
I'm experiencing the same issue as @ktuluv |
You need to install pip 9.0.1, pip 9.0.2 made breaking changes unfortunately see pypa/pip#5081. You can open the Anaconda Prompt or terminal and run
|
I had the same problem before but somehow solved it. However, I had to reinstall Anaconda today and encountered exactly the same problem. I unfortunately forgot how I solved the problem, so spent whole (Satur)day searching for the solution I used. The solution was to type in the Anaconda prompt:
Honestly, I have NO clue what this is, but worked for me twice in a row. I am a window 7 user, and installed the latest Anaconda as of 5/13/2018. |
@obluesky I tried every thing, but your solution works like a charm --> pip install pyqt5 Thanks a lot! |

Anaconda Navigator is just hanging for my windows machine - this began happening last week, and after a few restarts of my pc I can usually get Anaconda Navigator to work.
I am running Python 3 and the following shows my current anaconda information:
I am able to open up the command prompt and then run jupyter notebook with python working just fine, so not fully sure what is happening here.
Glad to provide more information as needed.
