Do not remove log files after running integration tests: they might be 
useful for debugging. Change Rails's default .htaccess so that it doesn't 
crash if mod_rewrite is not installed.

Aggressively close file descriptors in the spawn server processes. This 
way there's less risk to leak file descriptors.
