About
-----

Advanced-comments is an extension/customization to the standard Django new comments framework.
It currently supports basic features that are often used by blogs:

    * spamprotection using Akismet(needs valid AkismetAPIKey)
    * Gravatsupport

It can also be used as a base for additional features by subclassing from it.

Installation
------------

1.Copy the advanced-comments directory into your project.

The following part is most the same as the Django documentation describes the usage of the django.contrib.comments
(http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/comments/ perhaps you want to take a look at it):

2. Install the comments framework by adding 'django.contrib.comments' to INSTALLED_APPS.
3. Install advanced-comments by adding 'advanced-comments' to INSTALLED_APPS.
4. Add (r'^comments/', include('django.contrib.comments.urls')) to your URL patterns in your urls.py.
5. Add COMMENTS_APP = 'advanced-comments' to your settings.py
6. run python manage.py syncdb
7. setup the ADV_COMMENTS_AKISMET_API_KEY variable in settings.py (see configuration)

Configuration
-------------

To configure advanced-comments you can use some settings variables:

ADV_COMMENTS_GRAVATAR_S: sets the size (pixels) of a Gravatar (default is 80)
ADV_COMMENTS_GRAVATAR_D: sets the default graphics, if no Gravatar was found (fully referenced URL)
ADV_COMMENTS_SPAMPROTECTION: you can set this to False if you want to turn off Spamdetection (default is True)
ADV_COMMENTS_AKISMET_API_KEY: holds the Akismet API key. If ADV_COMMENTS_SPAMPROTECTION is not set to False you'll
get an exception when not defining this variable.

Usage
-----

To use the comments just do it like Django's documentation describes the usage of comments in templates.
You are able to get a Gravatar through {{comment.gravatar}} (e.g. you can use it with image-tags).
The spamdetection works without any further actions. Any detected spam will result in an 400 (bad request) error an will
not be stored in the database.

If you find any errors please conctact me.
