To reproduce:

./ag_client --np 8 -t 8 race condition shows up about 1 out of 9 tries.

Couldn't reproduce with g++ 4.6.2 and boost 1.48.0 with the aforementioned commit. Ran 40 times on one machine and appx 20 times on another. Closing this - please reopen with more details (e.g. what the problem is that you are seeing).
