School of Paper

Since the Young 6 were recently completed by that most prolific of Desktop Ponies sprite artists, Bot-chan, I figured it was time I made an update here.

New characters in this release:

• Ember
• Thorax
• (The Great and Powerful) Trixie!
• The Young 6: Gallus, Ocellus, Sandbar, Silverstream, Smolder and Yona.

Exposed Inequality

• New pony: Starlight Glimmer.
• Used updated images for some other characters.
• Fixed the sides of the screen looking rubbish when the background image didn't cover them.

Collaboration is magic

The first version made with the help of the magic of friendship! Specifically, most of the new features are thanks to my friend rcxdude.

Added in this release:

• Instead of always having four ponies on the screen, you can now turn it up all the way to eleven!
• The new Berry Punch mode views the wallpaper through the eyes of Ponyville's town drunk.
• Ponies trot mostly left and right instead of up and down.
• Ponies being dragged are no longer hidden under your finger.
• New ponies: Berry Punch and Minuette (whom you may know as Colgate).

Other changes:

• Now requires at least Android version 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Why can't I hold all these ponies?

New in this release:

• Configure custom ponies from the settings page.
• New ponies: Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, Spitfire, Soarin and Babs Seed.
• New non-ponies: Gilda and Zecora.
• Improved the custom pony editor.
• Started phoning it in on the release names. That's not a feature. —ed.
• Added a plug to my webpage. Nor is that.

Android's past is not today

Actually works on Android Froyo through Jelly Bean again.

The last couple of versions were completely broken on all Android versions earlier than 4.4 (Kitkat), My fault for not testing it properly. This is now fixed (yay)!

Tanks for saving some memory

Same features as version 1.2, but uses up a lot less memory.

This should fix the app running out of memory when there isn't enough RAM to hold sprites for all the ponies at once.

Pony backgrounds and background ponies

New feature: support for background images.

New ponies: Dr. Hooves, Octavia and Sweetie Drops. Along with the already present Derpy, Lyra and Vinyl Scratch, this completes the "background six" (referred to by M. A. Larson, at least, as the "alt. mane six").

Bring your own pony

Introducing custom ponies!

The wallpaper now supports importing new ponies after installation.

The editor is also added with this release; it runs on PC and should import sprites created for Desktop Ponies without too much hassle.

Initial release

The first public release of PonyPaper.

This version contains the following ponies (and dragon):

• The Mane 6; Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Spike and Twilight Sparkle (in both unicorn and alicorn forms).
• The Cutie Mark Crusaders; Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
• Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
• Big McIntosh, Derpy, Lyra Heartstrings, Sunset Shimmer and Vinyl Scratch.
