--About-- This was an experiment to render a UCP 3D scene, so that the projection matrix is changed when the user moves his head. A webcam is used to track the 3d glasses the user is wearing, by detecting especially red and cyan rectangles. It it would work, you could move around to look at the side of objects, just like you can in the real world. But it does not really work. --Running/Installation-- Requirements (hardware side): - Webcam - 3D glasses (red-cyan) - (white paper) The theoretically best place for the webcam is behind the middle of screen, probably in a distance between 50cm and 2m from your head. Since you can't actually place it there (unless you have a transparent screen), you should find the nearest possible place for it. The white paper is necessary to cover your mouth and nostrils, so the program won't confuse them with the red side of the glasses (under the right lighting conditions this could be optional...). Requirements (software side): - OpenGL, GLU, GLUT - OpenCV - GCC of course The [binary from my homepage](http://www.benibela.de/demos_en.html#webcamucp) can only be executed on Linux amd64 (debian, squeeze). It is however possible to compile it (only tested with the 3d-part before the webcam source was added) on Windows. --Usage-- Start the program, put on the 3d glasses, move your head in the zero position, right click somewhere and click on "calibrate position". Afterwards you can move the head to look around. There are also various options in the context menu and you can move the camera in the world with the mouse. If the red side of the glasses isn't detected, you can tweak the defines in realcamera.cpp (e.g. RED_S_FACTOR). If the mapping head movement->camera movement doesn't work, you can tweak the constants in app.cpp (e.g calibrationXBothCamImageToVR) In both cases you have to recompile it.
