• When limits are enforced...

    defunkt Apr 11

Some people are wondering what will happen to their private repositories next Thursday if they exceed their plan’s limit. Well, they’ll simply become inaccessible. You should clone and delete them before that happens to make sure you have a local copy of your code (which is nice to have anyway).

We would never consider making your private information public.

Could you send out a reminder on the 16th?
I know I’d like to make sure I’m not over the limit at the time of repo-death.

So, for example, if joined during the beta and do not upgrade (and hence are on the free plan) then any private repositories you have will be deleted. Is that correct?

    • kballard about 16 hours later

banbh: not deleted, just made inaccessible. If you upgrade your plan, they’ll reappear.

kballard is correct. We’ll keep your repos on disk for a short amount of time so that if you decide to upgrade, your repos will be there waiting for you.

How do I delete a repository? (public)

gmallard: at the bottom of your repo edit page, you’ll find a “delete repository” button
      http://github.com/gmallard/your_project/edit

mojombo: will we able to make our repositories public after they’ve been made inaccessible?
