based on the latest tests with cms-sw/cmssw#26460, I think that this is ready to go and can be merged.

which was needed for an earlier version of cms-sw/cmssw#26460

This pull request is fully signed and it will be integrated in one of the next IB/CMSSW_10_6_X/gcc700 IBs (tests are also fine).
