A new Pull Request was created by @jbsauvan (Jean-Baptiste Sauvan) for master. It involves the following packages: L1Trigger/L1THGCal @cmsbuild, @rekovic, @benkrikler, @kpedro88 can you please review it and eventually sign? Thanks. cms-bot commands are listed here |

@fabiocos is the different arch responsible for the comparison differences? |
@kpedro88 I do not see what else might cause this difference, which is anyway quite large (although we likely do not expect bit-by-bit identity). Please notice that the bulk fo the differences is in MC workflows, but not only (so not simply justified by some small numerical difference in the random number generator). The crash looks solved, let's reverify the comparison before the integration (a cross compiler check goes beyond the scope of this PR) |

This pull request is fully signed and it will be integrated in one of the next master IBs (tests are also fine). This pull request will now be reviewed by the release team before it's merged. @davidlange6, @slava77, @smuzaffar, @fabiocos (and backports should be raised in the release meeting by the corresponding L2) |

PR description:
Fix crash in HFNose workflows coming from HFNose layers being mixed with HGCAL layers in the tower maps (see #28598).
Simply remove HFNose trigger cells from the tower maps (no HFNose towers have been used or are needed so far).
