We started working with git and github. We are following the presentation here: http://slides.com/abostroem/local_version_control#. We made it to the point that everyone had created the planets repo on their local machines and added a few text files.

Remember: if you do not have OSX or Windows, then you will need to install a different git client. giteye is an excellent alternative for Linux.

The Boise State SciComp Workshop is meant to be a hands-on introduction to scientific programming. We will be focusing on learning how to install and utilize various applications. The primary coding language will be Python.
