                             ***Introduction***

    Delve is a new programming language, currently under heavy development.  
Provided here is a compiler and interpreter for the "kernel" delve system.  
That is, this is the sort of code a complete Delve system would deal with 
once macros, the type system and general desugaring have already taken place.  
( A little similar to "core" in Glasgow Haskell ).

   For more information on Delve and the progress of development, see my blog

                             ***Prerequisites***

   Delve first requires a recent GHC install.  See http://www.haskell.org/ghc.

Tested with:
spoon@utensil:~$ ghc --version
The Glorious Glasgow Haskell Compilation System, version 6.10.3

   Delve also requires the Haskell libraries "stream-fusion", "array", "binary", 
"containers", "polyparse", "attoparsec", "haskell-src-exts" , "bytestring" and 
"mtl", as well as "quickcheck" for tests.

   Containers, array, bytestring, quickcheck and mtl come with GHC as standard.  
The others may be installed via Hackage or Cabal or from their respecitive 
repositories. 

                             ***Installation***

   First cd to the root Delve directory.

Then on systems with sh installed.

./build.sh

On systems without sh, 

runghc -cpp build.hs

   This will build Delve, and create three new files in the current directory: edc,
edvm, and edvm.dui.   A message will appear advising you to save edvm.dui into /etc/delve.
Heed this advice!

   edc is the Elgin Delve Compiler.  edvm is the Elgin Delve Virtual Machine.  Try 
running each without arguments.  They will print helpful usage information.

                      ***But how do the examples work!?*** 

   Good question!  I have attempted to explain myself in the file "TUTORIAL".
