Sprint #1 Details

For the second iteration of this starter kit, I will be releasing the following features:

• Allow comments for post
• Akismet integration
• RSS/Atom Feeds
• Tagging Posts
• Textile Integration
• Design enhancements

-Sprint ETD: Sunday, 13 April 2008-

In this time I will also need to setup the server and get the app running. This could take some time.

Actual completions:

• Commenting on posts
• Atom feed available at /feed
• Akismet integration using Rakismet (fighting spam)
• Post tagging using acts_as_taggable_on_steroids plugin
• Textile integration using RedCloth gem
• Design enhancements (some CSS bugs fixed, general niceties)
• Gravatar integration (not planned, but done anyway)

I ended up implementing Gravatar this time. I was a little too excited about this one.

I did not upload it to a server yet. I will do this in a later sprint.

I ran into some serious problems with textareas in HAML. Found the fix (using ~ instead of = to display the textarea tag), but it made me lost close to a week. Once that week was lost, other work kept taking priorities. But, I made it.
