Pyrot for Xbox Media Center!

This is what you’ve all been waiting for. This is a plugin for Xbox Media Center (or its variants like Plex) that lets you browse Pyrot for things to watch

Once you find something you want to watch, select it to queue it in Pyrot. Check on its status in Current Downloads.

Its the exact Pyrot UI that you’re familiar with, but ON YOUR TV!

Dependencies

Make sure you have the most up to date version of your version of Xbox Media Center. That being:

  • Plex – 0.7.5
  • XBMC – 8.10 Atlantis
  • Boxee – ?? who cares

Versions in bold are the only ones tested.

Make sure you’re also using the MediaStream skin. If your skin doesn’t look like the shots below, it might all blow up.

Install

Download

Just download the plugin and drop it in your plugins/videos dir for your XBMC variant. Make sure you name the directory ‘pyrot’

  • Plex – ~/Application Support/Plex/plugins/video
  • XBMC – xbmc_root/plugins/video

Username & Password

Add your Pyrot username and password via the resources/settings.xml file. Edit the default attribute. OR use the context menu (keyboard: c, appleremote: hold menu, custom remote: on your own) and edit the plugin settings from there.

Now you can download and see your current downloads.

Browse

Now via the MediaStream skin, browse to VIDEOS and the Video Plugins item should appear.

Want Pyrot accessible from the home screen like in the shot below?

Find where your MediaStream skin is, and paste this into the 720p/Home.xml around line 1394 above My Movies Button.

  • Plex – Plex.app/Contents/Resources/Plex/skin/MediaStream
  • XBMC – xbmc_root/skins/MediaStream
