I just built Qt5, PyQt4 and matplotlib on my own virtualenv.
When I do:
import pylab pylab.plot([1, 3, 2])
I get:
Failed to load platform plugin "xcb". Available platforms are: linuxfb minimal
Why? Is this a new dependency on Qt5?
Looking at: http://xcb.freedesktop.org/dist/ I see I could build:
xcb-1.9 or libxcb-1.9
xcb-1.9
libxcb-1.9
Do users need both? Or should they just downgrade to Qt4?
Note: I left a copy of this thread at StackOverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16243282/import-pylab-pylab-plot1-3-2-failed-to-load-platform-plugin-xcb

That is the supported version of QT.
Technically it would be an enhancement to support QT5 rather than this being a bug per se, so I've labelled it as "wishlist".
Sorry, something went wrong.
It also sounds like there might be something amiss with how your Qt5 was built. Do any of the standard PyQt examples work?
closing as we do not support qt5, this is very old, and it may be installation/virtualenv issues.
