Best Gnuplot for OSX

I’ve been doing a few experiments with gnuplot, in the hopes of finding the most convenient and easiest to install version for the bundle.

I’d currently recommend install gnuplot-nox from fink. This will mean doing fink install gnuplot-nox, as there isn’t a pre-built binary yet.

This will pull in all of the correct libraries and build you a love gnuplot binary, complete with pdf output and aquaterm support, all without having to worry about X11. Cool.

You can also build gnuplot from CVS sources fairly easily. This will give you access to cool new features like iteration. If you want to specify a specific binary to use, you can set TM_GNUPLOT.
