When a controller acts_as_iphone, it overwrites non-html formats. So if I want an iphone application to respond to ajax requests, it forces those requests into the :iphone format.

This can be fixed in the controller with the following code:

request.format = :js if request.headers["Accept"].include? "text/javascript"

Or a before_filter so that the format is set back to :js for xhr requests. It would be nice if this could be fixed in the plugin, though.
