Hi, Also #6168 (possibly a side effect of a recent merge). Tanks. |
We'll need browse mode for these. caret navigation can't be trusted. It On 11/07/2016 1:55 PM, Joseph Lee wrote:

while trying to read the messages in mail app of win10, NVDA said "edit read only" again and again by pressing up/down aerows, but can't read the message. upgraded today to 16.3, and the statement is present in the change log about mail app compatibility. but it is still not working. why is it? @jcsteh |
Hi, according to @michaelDCurran, this is due to an update to Mail app that was released a few days ago, now fixed as part of work to support Edge and Mail app in Anniversary Update. Thanks. To clarify, it did work with NVDA 2016.3 in the initial version of the
Mail app that was released with the 1607 update. Unfortunately, it seems
Microsoft released a minor update to the Mail app after the 1607 update
which broke this again. We have a fix for this which will ship as part
of NVDA 2016.4.

but @jcsteh you don't think so, that NV access should inform the users about it? or otherwise update to what's new doc by some way? |
There's no single channel we can use to inform users. The What's New
lists changes in NVDA, not issues introduced in other software. Even if
we updated it, you'd only see it in subsequent releases; we can't update
it for an existing release, since many users already have that release.

If you use Mail app on Windows10, it is impossible to read with arrow keys bodies of messages.
NVDA simpy makes the error sound.
This also with the use cursor on message option enabled.
See attached log.
