Current Post Parameters in WP_Query

It would be nice to have a way to use information about the current post in the WP_QUERY option. However this may only work for single post pages or just the first of a series, not sure yet.

{
    "author_id": "{AUTHOR_ID}",
    "cat": "{CATEGORY_ID}"
    "exclude": {POST_ID}

    ...and so on...
}

The question is what to do if none of these parameters can be set. Is the widget hidden in that instance...
Or maybe just ignore those options.
