Create R package for calculating fundraising metrics for Colby College Alumni Office - June 2017. The Alumni advancement teams wants to find the number of alumni that live with a certain zipcode. This would allow for targeted reachout for fundraising and other college related events
- Calculate number of addresses within a given address of an event using 'Haversine' Great Circle Distance formula (The shortest distance between two points according to the 'haversine method')
- Method assumes a spherical earth, ignoring ellipsoidal effects.
- The function has now been fully incorporated in the internal RShinny dashboard reporting tools which informs leaadership Gifts officer on who to target for their fundrasing campaigns
