How to add a token
To add a token to the watchlist of the MIST Wallet, you have to know the address of the token contract. Watching a token does not have any effect on the blockchain, its just watching! Watching a token with MIST has an additional effect. If you own a token, the token will be indicated on the wallet page together with the account owning the token.
As an example, we'll show how to watch a token with the Ethereum Foundations Unicorn token. More information on the background of the token can be found on the Ethereum Homepage.
To add the Unicorn Token to your watch list, the following steps are necessary:
- Open MIST Wallet and click on the "Contracts" tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Watch Token.
- Add the address 0x89205A3A3b2A69De6Dbf7f01ED13B2108B2c43e7 and the remaining information will be loaded automatically.
- Click Ok and your token will be added.
