Make things look a bit better: for WebKit, set the background of the table 
to white; for IE7, use 'col-resize' for the cursor and use background 
images for the start and end of ranges.

Because the clear button can't be an anchor tag, let's explicitly define

IE7 fixes: clear link wasn't returning false, so make it a span; field 
values must be an empty string, not null; use 'className' when creating 
elements, not 'class'.
