why remove render? why was it determined legacy?
in my humble opinion it was a nice alternative. sometimes it is just too confining to have to convert everything to a string to be eval-ed. and sometimes (when you’re template code is all ruby code anyhow—like xml builder—then there is no added benefit to compiling)
