underlines/polish letters issues - github files vs google fonts

Hello Font People!
I noticed strange things with Mona Sans font. I downloaded files from Google Fonts and the underline is huge and it's definitely some kind of bug. {Please have a look at the screenshots from Adobe Illustrator:

Another strange thing is that when I install fonts from github, the underline works fine, but there are no Polish characters:

Do you have any idea how to fix these isues? Thanks a lot!

I am also seeing the underline issue when downloading from Google. When the font is converted to woff2, the underlines on links are very large.

I'd like to clarify, the large underline issue is not related to converting to woff2. Instead, the issue is specific to the browser. It looks fine in Chrome, but the issue is seen in Safari and Firefox. The issue does not appear in the version on Github, but it does appear on the Google fonts version.

As you can see on the Google font page in Firefox or Safari, adding text-decoration: underline to the font causes a very large underline.

This is actually a fairly serious display bug that could affect accessibility. Ideally the fix is made to the Google fonts version, since that version also has fixes for special characters (as @ljoeljoe is experiencing the special character issue for Polish characters).

Just want to point out that this underline issue also happens in Figma native client at least on MacOS.

Can confirm weird underlines on Firefox 138.0.1, MacOS when using Mona Sans, 400. The font's source is https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/monasans/v3/o-0bIpQmx24alC5A4PNB6Ryti20_6n1iPHjc5a7du3mhPy0.woff2.

I'm also experiencing this bug, but it seemed fine in Figma. The underline issue only came up once it was developed on Android
