Description
Purpose of the feature.
We use RedHat Ubi images as base images in our k8s cluster. So we can not upgrade to ferretdb v2 because therefor we need documentdb, which is only available for ubuntu/debian images.
Describe the solution you'd like
Please provide a .rpm file so it is also possible to use it for RH images.
Describe alternatives you've considered
What would be also fine, some description to build it for RH images.

It is preferred that .rpm packages are provided/built/made available. This extends availability beyond simply K8s images and can then be used on any EL-compliant platform.

which os and pg versions are needed? and do you need arm support?
CflKnowis commentedon May 13, 2025
@shuaitian-git
os: RHEL 8 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8)
pg: 17
No arm support needed, all amd64

Hey @shuaitian-git, can you give me roughly a timeline when you will work on this? Otherwise I need to do a workaround in the meantime.

Will start to work on it this week.

@shuaitian-git: I need documentdb as rpm-file for
os: RHEL 9 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9)
pg: 16
but I will not use docker. Is it possible to download documentdb as single rpm-file ?

@testthebest-sudo yes, just like how we provide deb packages in our releases: https://github.com/microsoft/documentdb/releases/tag/v0.103-0
