MCP server starting only after a computer restart

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

• VS Code Version: 1.100.3 (system setup)
• OS Version: Windows 11 23H2

Steps to Reproduce:

My MCP servers works fine after starting my computer, however after some time or opening a new repository I won't even have to the "Running|Stop|Restart" header in my user settings.
Also I don't see any of the tools that are available in my local MCP servers, I can only see the ones from "Github Copilot Chat".

Did anyone already experienced that issue?

I was encountering the same issue.

I had my settings misconfigured, and once I added:

"github.copilot.advanced": {
    "mcp.enabled": true
}

And forced a restart using the command palette (CMD/CTRL+Shift+P) and running "Developer: Reload Window"
It ended up working for me.
