Unable to view Jupyter Notebooks after latest release.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Deactivate all extensions.
2. Open a single .ipynb file
3. Wait ~5-10seconds. You will receive popup saying "the window is not responding".

I got an error saying the window is not responding. Using jupyter notebook by typing jupyter notebook and then opening the link in a web browser works fine.

I'm having same / similar issue across multiple systems after upgrading to 1.101.

Downgrading to 1.100 and disabling auto update is the only thing that worked for me.

The symptoms seem to start after displaying an exception (log.exception to the notebook stderr). The cells stop rendering any content.

Oddly, restarting vscode (file->close and reload browser ) doesn't clear it up consistently. After restarting, get an occasional 'the browser is not responding' message.

I haven't yet tried to make an MRE.

I've been having the same issue and I followed your instructions. Attached is the trace file

thanks, looks like it's caused by inserting links into the stack trace from e5ddb82
Are you able to share the notebook file that causes this as well?
Or if not the full notebook file, you could reopen in a text editor and find the cell with a stacktrace and just share that part.

I will likely just need to revert that commit for now
