Requirements

Thanks to GitPod no technical requirements are needed, just copy and past the .gitpod.yml file to your repository and open your repository in Gitpod.

Steps to create the project

ℹ️ The complete source of the project can be found in the hello-world-from-quarkus-solution repository. ℹ️

Init and update the project

run the following command:

quarkus create app com.workshop.operator:hello-world-from-quarkus-solution --extension=resteasy-reactive

$ quarkus create app com.workshop.operator:hello-world-from-quarkus-solution  --extension=resteasy-reactive

go to the created directory hello-world-from-quarkus-solution
test the generated application by launching the quarkus dev command:

ℹ️ Note that you can use Maven to launch the Quarkus application with the following command: mvn quarkus:dev ℹ️

update the unit test class GreetingResourceTest.java in the ./test/java/com/workshop/operator as following:

fix the GreetingResource class in ./main/java/com/workshop/operator/:

Release and tag the application

create the JAR: mvn clean package
create the docker image: docker build -f src/main/docker/Dockerfile.jvm -t 56hkk1xk.gra7.container-registry.ovh.net/workshop/<username>/hello-world-from-quarkus-solution:1.0.0 ., for example docker build -f src/main/docker/Dockerfile.jvm -t 56hkk1xk.gra7.container-registry.ovh.net/workshop/wilda/hello-world-from-quarkus-solution:1.0.0 .
connect the docker client to the Harbor registry: docker login 56hkk1xk.gra7.container-registry.ovh.net
push the image previously created: docker push 56hkk1xk.gra7.container-registry.ovh.net/workshop/<username>/hello-world-from-quarkus-solution:1.0.0, for example docker push 56hkk1xk.gra7.container-registry.ovh.net/workshop/wilda/hello-world-from-quarkus-solution:1.0.0
push all the code to the repository
create the release 1.0.0 in Github: see official documentation

Note that the GitHub release version must be the same that the previously created docker image created
