Note that in Maven 3.x, a MavenProject can be loaded from any pom in the repository.
This is imho not a good idea, and Maven 4.x API uses Project for the project you will actually build (as explained in the Project's javadoc), and just Model in other cases. So there's a small difference between both, and that may be the reason why the check is done in the getters.
