refactor: form validation styling follow up

As a follow up to #1798 we would have to fine tune the form elements validation styling further apart from :required state. https://jsbin.com/ruwanaz/edit?html,css,output could be the basis for further tweeks.

at least we should add a comment in the code why we differentiate on the different types of form fields, instead of "just relying" on :user-invalid etc.
