Version suffixed binaries are not in PATH

First of all, thank you for this image. 🎉

While updating our scripts to use specified version, I found a small inconsistency with the distro packages in library/gcc:15-bookworm that it does not have a versioned gcc-15 in PATH. Instead, there is gcc-12 at /usr/bin/gcc-12. It would be nice to keep it consistent with regular Debian installation, where they install the versioned variants alongside the suffixed ones.

Alright, if this is international. The common practice of Linux distributions, including Debian, is to use --program-suffix="-${MAJOR_VERSION}" configure option, and then the default selection (/usr/bin/gcc) is just a symlink to the versioned binary which is deemed active. I think that's where the expectation of the scripts I was working with was coming from.
