For installing on Windows, in the sub-steps of Step 2 it says:
3. In the Command Prompt window that appears, type the following command: $ go version

I'm on Windows 11, and the command shouldn't include the $ .

$ is traditional to indicate a command prompt, to separate it from any output of commands that may be shown.
