Accessing the button that looks like the extension but appears below it and looks similar

There is a button that appears below the extension button, it looks similar in design but when you hover over it it reads "files" when you click on it it opens up an access bar with an excellent overview of the project you're working on, the problem is it keeps disappearing and I cannot keep it on the screen now it's very frustrating and I like that button and I wanted back permanently.
I am a dyslexic who is using voice to text writing code says very exciting experience, I am very visually based on navigating through the images of words rather than reading them is a big part of my process.
Can you help me get this button back and keep it on the screen?

Is it the File Explorer? You can access it with Ctrl+Shift+E, and you can enable it by right-clicking on the activity bar and checking the Explorer option. You can also click and drag icons to move them up and down the activity bar.

If the view you're talking about is not the File Explorer, it might be a view contributed by an extension. In that case, I would need to know what extension contributes that view to help out more.
