Environment

TeXstudio: 4.8.6 and 4.8.7
24-inch, M1, iMac, 2021, macOS Sequioa 15.4 Mac, Linux
(Distribution)
TexLive 2024

Expected behavior

Typing in an \item should not crash

Actual behavior

When I typed \ after "in the brain." the app. crashed.

How to reproduce

Reproducible.

We need a tested minimal example ( tex fike) with step by step instructions on how to produce the crash.
