To verify:

  • Install the latest pre-release of GitHub Pull Requests
  • Open a repo, preferably one you work in a lot.
  • Open the Pull Requests view
  • Expand the "Local Pull Request Branches" tree item
  • Choose a PR from "Local Pull Request Branches" where the upstream branch has been deleted
  • Check out that PR using the tree view action (the -> or the action in the context menu)
  • Verify that you can check out the PR.
