Welcome to the vSID wiki!

Here you will find all important information to run the plugin.

Installation

Simply load the plugin via the euroscope "Plug-ins Dialog". To enable synchronization of groundstates and the clearance received flag, vSID needs the right to draw on "standard ES radar screen" and any other plugin screens (e.g. Ground Radar display).

Windows runtime Version V14.38.33135 (https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe - released FEB 2024) or later recommended!

SID Assignment

vSID is an Euroscope plugin designed to assign runways, standard instrument departures (SIDs and departure transitions) and initial climbs to departing traffic, based on a variaty of conditions.

SIDs will be assigned based on prefered runways, location at the airport, times, wake turbulence categories, enginetype, MTOW, custom rules to turn on/off and much more. The plugin configuration is designed to keep it as flexible as possible to enable the usage at (almost) every airport.

The current version of the SID (number) is loaded from the ese-file, so it is easy to keep the data up to date once configured.

The additional Euroscope menus for the runway, SID and initial climb selection are designed to show the available data for the selected flight only.

Customizable colors for the different items enable additional information for the controller (e.g. deviation from the default assignment, "climb via SID" instruction, etc.).

The advanced Auto-Mode provides an easy usage from Delivery up to Center for top-down service. The plugin ensures that the SID is set in the flightplan and synchronized with all controllers, independant of the individual runway configuration.

Assigned Squawk

Next to the SID assignment, the plugin also offers a TagItem to show the assigned squawk. The squawk will be highlighted if not set correctly.

Requests

vSID also offers a function to track requests for startup, pushback, taxi and departure (including timer). This requests will be syncronised with online ATC stations.

The own active requests, ground status and clearance received flags can be synchronized with a new controller with the following command:

Command: ".vsid sync"

The new station do not need to do anything to receive the synchronisation.

Start-Up Counter

The startup counter counts all active startup approvals with status startup, pushback, taxi, departure, (lineup).

Command: ".vsid menu" => click on the airport to open the startup counter

A flight will be deleted from the counter when reaching 50 KTS during take-off run.

SID TagItem

The vSID TagItem "SID" can be used in lists and tags. For all airborn aircraft with no SID set (no SID/RWY in the flightplan) only the first waypoint is displayed as it is not confirmed which SID is used.

Landing clearance flag

The vSID TagItem "CLRF" can be used to display a given landing clearance. The corresponding function is "vSID CTL". This function can be used on any other items via the tag editor (e.g. the displayed altitude). The setting of the cleared to land flag is synchronized between controllers. If no clearance was issued a two step warning will be displayed depending on distance and altitude AGL. These values can be configured in the main config.

If an aircraft has to go around the landing clearance will be revoked and the display of warnings suppressed. This is reset once the aircraft is above the warning altitude. A go-around is assumed if the aircraft starts to climb again (a small error margin is added for cases where the aircraft might be unstable)
