Applicatino Specific "Alt" key shortcuts are not working

so, i have a bunch of apps that have there own alt shortcuts that used to work before but after install glazewm, they dont

Hey! I suppose the issue you are experiencing is a bit to be expected with the default keybinds for GlazeWM. It heavily uses "alt" plus many keys for commands to GlazeWM.

Any case where GlazeWM is handing the key command will take priority over the application.

There are a few things you can do to fix and / or work around it:

• Easiest: If its only a rare application shortcut you need that is blocked by Glaze, try pausing glaze ( Alt + Shift + P, by default ) and then issuing the command, then unpausing when ready. Any commands besides Unpause should filter down to the application while GlazeWM is paused. I use this myself for infrequent shortcuts and its good to know its there.
• Most nuanced: Change the Glaze WM keymapping to not use the command you are hoping will make it to the app. You can change the GlazeWM keymap to whatever you like, so if you prefer to release a command or change it to free it up for application use, do that! You could change Glaze to always need Alt + Ctrl instead of just Alt, or you could change a given keymapping from like Alt + A to Alt + S to release Alt + A to the underlying app, etc.

Simple problem that is a bit to be expected, you should be able to solve it as best suits your use case and the physical keys available on your keyboard.
