Summary of Changes
Hello @gaby, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request aims to improve the accuracy and relevance of code coverage reports by updating the Codecov configuration. It introduces more specific ignore rules for various generated files, particularly those at the project's root, and refines existing directory exclusion patterns for better coverage management.
Highlights
- Codecov Configuration Update: The
.github/codecov.yml
file has been updated to refine the set of files ignored during code coverage analysis. - Root-Level Generated File Exclusion: New ignore patterns have been added to exclude generated files directly at the root level (e.g.,
*_msgp.go
,*_msgp_test.go
,*_gen.go
) from code coverage reports. - Improved Directory Ignoring: The pattern for ignoring the
docs
directory has been updated from./docs/
todocs/**
to ensure all contents within the directory are comprehensively excluded. - Configuration Clarity: Comments have been added to the
codecov.yml
file to categorize and clarify the purpose of different ignore patterns.

Code Review
This pull request updates the Codecov configuration to ignore generated files at the root level and within subdirectories, as well as the docs
directory. The change from ./docs/
to docs/**
is a good improvement for clarity and correctness. However, the patterns added to ignore root-level generated files are redundant because the existing patterns using **/*
already cover files in the root directory. Removing these redundant patterns would simplify the configuration.
