Save compatibility is maintained with the Second Demo (and not before that), but your stats and your minions' stats will most likely be reset if your save is too old. I'll do my 100% best to maintain save compatibility with future betas and the final release. Until the final release, this is always subject to change.

Content:

  • Added the Grandstone Quarry and a new sidequest to introduce it!
  • Added new quest steps for a few existing sidequests!
  • Added new moves, creatures, and equipment!

Quality of Life:

  • Implemented export/import save file functionality when in the Load Save menu in the main menu! Android app permissions had to be updated to allow saving/loading from user-accessible folders on the device.

Audio:

  • Added new music for Grandstone, and the new Grandstone Quarry!

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed enemies triggering encounters from WAY too far away
  • Fixed a softlock caused by talking to an NPC or interactable object on the same frame you hit a loading zone

  • Changed the "select enemy" button to display in front of them, rather surrounding them -- enemies overlapping each other are easier to select now
  • Added the ability to use the "Tab Left/Right" buttons to select dialogue options, etc.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a visual bug in Battles where a Rune would trigger during each combatant's end-of-round triggers
  • Fixed a bug in some areas where having Evolved creatures loaded in the overworld would unintentionally cause unevolved creatures in battle to be Evolved

  • Fixed being able to trash one-off items like equipment, Key Items
  • Fixed UI bugs in Stats menu

  • Fixed some status effects given by moves not having a set duration

  • Exp gain now prorates starting at 5 levels above the enemy

UI

  • Added Map UI in the Pause menu! See roughly where you are, where the places you've visted are, and where certain quest steps will be.
  • Added button to open the Map in the Quest Details UI: only available for incomplete quests
  • Added "New Moves" tab to the Stats menu when levelling up; See and learn the moves unlocked at the new level!
  • Added "Battle Boons" tab to the Stats menu, appearing only when certain consumable items are in effect...
  • Vastly improved the Inventory UI performance when reloading the list of items, such as when switching between filters, using items, etc.
  • Improved the Quests list UI performance when reloading the list of quests, such as when switching between filters or pinning/unpinning a quest to the top of the list
  • Added "Attunement" bar to the Summon Minion menu in Battle
  • Removed "pro" dense Stats view as an option; only the tabbed Stats layout remains
  • Virtual Keyboard isn't brought up when clicking on the Minion Name input while it's disabled
  • Added an "Inventory" icon for the speaker sprite when picking up an item

Quality of Life

  • Add Virtual Joystick Deadzone as a separate setting from the Deadzone setting for physical controllers
  • Settings now save when closing the Settings menu, not on quit of the game
  • "Back" (>) Android button press is now handled as a quit attempt, saving & quitting the game

Audio

  • Revamped many moves' SFX!
  • Added footstep SFX for NPCs
  • Revamped "horse cart crash" story event SFX
  • Added multiple new tracks for overworld areas!

Visuals

  • Added weather effects (snow, sandstorm, ash) to various maps!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed being able to cancel the Level Up! animation by switching menus or backing out of the Stats menu
  • Fixed gaining HP from a lifesteal move sometimes causing the wrong HP to display until updated
  • Fixed some info in the Read the Flow of Battle menu not displaying properly
  • Fixed some dialogue not sizing the speaker's sprite in the text box correctly for some large speakers
  • Fixed issue with already being able to see an evolution's Element weaknesses in the Flow of Battle menu when the base form has already been unlocked
  • Fixed a softlock in the Grandstone Forest

  • Fleshed out a hidden quest that was already previously available
  • Tweaked quest dialogue for a sidequest in Leavenport
  • Tweaked some cutscene dialogue
  • Prevented the player from leaving a certain main quest area without talking to the character required for the quest

UI

  • Added the ability to open the Settings menu during a cutscene
  • When using a Healing item outside of battle, your HP bar is now shown in the Item Use dialog
  • Scrollbars now reset when a different filter is applied in the Inventory and Quests menus
  • Tweak Battle Complete! logic for showing rewards in case the player lost and did not obtain any partial rewards
  • Tweak sprites in the Surge Orbs menu to color the cursor highlight red or blue based on if that many Orbs can be spent
  • Adjusted "red" Orb sprite to have a slash through it and distinguish it from the "blue" one (for colorblind accessibility)

Save files will not be automatically migrated over from previous demos; the save file location has changed. To manually move your save files, find the directory where save files previously were (see this Godot docs page for information on how to find it).
