subscribed tags only emails after someone replies to question, not the question itself

Problem: In Ask Fedora > Profiles > email subscriptions, I have a bunch of subscription tags, and the email subscriptions for them is set to instantly. But I never get an email for the original question. I only get an email when someone comments. I'm expecting an email for any question tagged with any of my subscribed tags.
