Releases: Anskiy/jetsoftime
Jets of Time 3.1.1
A relatively minor release, yet with potentially wide repercussions, this was mainly made to address the issue of Magus' Castle go modes being perceivably too common. Furthermore, it also addressed Mt. Woe being effectively inaccessible in most seeds by opening up 12000 BC from the start in the End of Time, while locking out the skygates themselves. Lastly, the Ladder Racing Tournament ended just recently, so this was a good opportunity to put in some new Bike Racing champions! And, that's about it really.
Changelog:
- Made 12000 BC's gate open from the start of the game in the End of Time. Note that this means visiting it will also open 12000 BC on the Epoch.
- Closed the skygates leading to the Kingdom of Zeal in 12000 BC. They now open up when you beat either Magus or Black Tyrano.
- Added new Bike Racing champions, they were decided by the finals of the Ladder Racing Tournament and replace the old champions.
Jets of Time 3.1.0
For the most part this is a small feature upgrade comparatively; the most notable aspects of this update are the duplicate characters flag and two spot bosses being shuffled too. This is not to say that it isn't impactful however, on the contrary this update also features quite a few changes based on feedback from the community and general observation. Here's a changelog:
- Added dual boss randomization
- Added duplicate characters as an option
- Removed the "s" and "d" flags, made them always apply to every seed
- Upped Falcon Hit's power to 1.5x Spincut
- Altered Robo's Rbn to give + 3 speed in addition to its other boosts
- Changed distribution of Power on Power Tabs to 2/3/4, 33% chance
- Made the Pendant open up the portals in Lost Worlds. They all lead to the Millenial Fair now.
- Removed some duplicate names, thanks ianmcorvidae!
Jets of Time 3.0.0
This is quite the huge release. Starting with an innocent little suggestion from FutureForce, it eventually blew up to become this large, powerful thing. There are many, many changes to cover, but let's start with the obvious ones:
-
Boss Randomizer mode added: A long requested mode by fans, this was hindered by technical issues and a general lack of motivation before. gameboyf9 got past both, and delivered a pretty solid mode. While currently it's limited to shuffling single target bosses, there are plans to add dual target bosses in the near future. Oh, and keep an eye out for a few surprise appearances..
-
Chronosanity mode added: Taking inspiration from the Keysanity mode in LTTPR, Anguirel developed this mode. Basically, it shuffles key items into chests, making seeds longer and way more unpredictable. Much care has been taken to not place key items into chests that can become inaccessible, and it even accounts for the early pendant charge flag.
-
Tabsanity mode added: Yet another addition by gameboyf9, this places tabs in all chests, including sealed ones. Needless to say, it's an interesting challenge. It's also compatible with Chronosanity, if you're interested.
-
Shop price modes added: Previously, there were no randomization options for shops. Anguirel decided to make some, and invented not just a free shops flag, but also random pricing.
-
Balanced tech randomization added: FutureForce made this mode to cut down on seeds starting out with crazy techs like Flare and Luminaire, while still allowing for varied tech lists. It works quite well in practice, though there are still seeds where you can get unexpectedly get lucky with the flag on.
There's a lot more stuff, like a cleaned up UI, Crono and Robo's ultimate physical moves working better with more commonly found weapons, Magus' Black Hole being replaced with something that doesn't crash the game, Black Omen bosses (besides Giga Mutant and Elder Lavos Spawn) being more noteworthy and tabs providing random, generally stronger boosts. Check the changelog for an exhaustive list, or just roll a seed and start playing!
Jets of Time 2.0.2
Another bugfix release, this fixes Bangor Dome's seal bugging out when both Lost Worlds and character locks are on.
Jets of Time 2.0.1
A bugfix release, this fixes Hexagon Mist from non Zeal 2 enemies not being absorbed and not respecting mdef or barriers.
Jets of Time v2.0
This release features difficulty settings, attempts to buff triple techs, and last but certainly not the least, a GUI designed by Anguirel. Difficulty settings mainly control how loot is distributed, though Hard has a bunch of stat tweaks to make the experience noticeably harder, on top of generally scarce resources. Following the general outline of the base game, triple techs have been buffed by providing a stronger multiplier to the largest tech used.
Changelog:
- Implemented difficulty settings.
- Set Tail Spin to 24 power, made it cost 10 MP.
- Made Arc Impulse use 150% damage for Spincut and Leap Slash.
- Made 3D Attack use 150% damage for Triple Kick.
- Made DarkEternal use 150% damage for DarkMatter.
- Made Omega Flare use 150% damage for Flare.
- Raised Grand Dream's power to 40.
- Merged GUI made by Anguirel.
- Added tweaks to enemy and boss stats in hard mode.
- Made scalable bosses start with their lowest boost on Hard.
- Made Tail Spin use Level as a defensive stat.
Jets of Time Test v 2.0
The second test release of Jets of Time, this features a slightly loosened economy, some quality of life changes, and a brand new mode. Also included is a new guide to the randomizer's flags, both in the repository and on the website.
Changelog:
- Implemented Lost Worlds mode. Features:
- You start out in 2300 AD, and can explore it, 12000 BC and Prehistory freely.
- Your characters start at level 15, have three techs learnt, and have magic unlocked.
- You can buy from the guarantee shop in the fair before starting, but can't access it afterwards until either Zeal 2 or the Lavos shell is defeated.
- To access the Ocean Palace, you need to defeat Black Tyrano and collect the Ruby Knife.
- The p flag does not work with this mode.
- Redid HP of Lab 16 enemies:
- Meat Eater has 500 HP.
- Octopod has 300 HP.
- Crater has 300 HP.
- Set levels of characters in Proto Dome, Dactyl Nest and Frog's Burrow to level 15.
- Set HP of Rubbles to 500.
- Made everything in the Good tier except the GreenDream sellable.
- Made Amulets sellable.
- Added guaranteed Amulets to the upper Nu shop in Kajar, and the Last Village shop.
- Consequently, made Amulets rarer and cost more.
Jets of Time Test 1.2
Another bugfix release, this time fixing an erroneous .exe build caused by a typo.
Jets of Time Test Release 1.1
A minor bugfix release, this fixes Triple Kick based combo techs. They were broken because Triple Kick based combos used an alternative move that was single attack, and the multi attack nature of Triple Kick didn't play well with them,
Jets of Time Test 1
The first test release, this features the brand new economy model that cuts down on top tier gear and cash, while also making loot more varied. Of note is that enemies have a larger drop pool now, and later enemies can drop good gear. A few techs of Ayla's were buffed to make her work better outside of combinations with Crono. Several vanilla locations for rocks were restored, and now you can get all the rocks on every playthrough.
The biggest addition, of course, is the tech list randomizer. This makes it so that characters can start with different techs, and learn them in orders very different from vanilla. I hope that this addition will add a lot of interesting variance to the gameplay. Rest assured that it is optional.
Changelog:
- Upped the attack of several weapons to make them more interesting buys.
- Moved PowerScarf and Rage Band to Passable tier.
- Nerfed prices of most bad, passable, and medium tier items.
- Upped the prices of Shelters and Revives.
- Set Giant's Claw enemies back to vanilla stats.
- Made a new tier, rearranged loot some more.
- Made all equipment in Good Tier and above unsellable.
- Rebalanced most of the prices, making several items cheaper while buffing the prices of some high tier equipment.
- Redid the placement algorithms for treasure chests, enemy drops, event rewards and shops.
- Gave back vanilla rock locations, set them all to be randomized.
- Made consumables slightly less common in chests.
- Buffed Ayla's Cat Attack and Triple Kick, Cat Attack now costs more TP to unlock and more MP to use.
- Implemented tech randomization.
- Mentioned flags in brackets while selecting them.
