Upgrade Notes
This version requires a game restart. See How to Upgrade.
Changes
- The config editor now checks that settings are actually sensible. You may find it warning you about existing settings, so it may help to do
config/check
after you upgrade and then clean up any warnings so it stops nagging you. - Various improvements/fixes made to the site ban features to discourage persistent trolls. Notably:
- Admins can bypass all bans (so you never accidentally lock yourself out).
- Guests and roster claims are now checked for bans.
- Approved chars can still connect with a proxy site/VPN even if proxies are blacklisted.
- A new ‘ban’ command to newpassword/ban someone and all their alts.
- Filter jobs by status. (suggested by Monkey)
- You can require apps for all rosters with a single config setting, instead of having to set it manually on each new roster char.
- There’s now a better workflow for roster chars requiring an application. You can set a template for apps in the config options, and either roster/claim or the web claim screen lets them enter their app text and create a staff job.
- The combat ‘distract’ action now works differently. If successful, it forces the target to ‘pass’, effectively losing a turn.
- Ares can now integrate with Discord, inspired by Rhost and some code shared by minty_cream. This feature is still experimental. It's a pain to set up (due to Discord’s interface), and requires a special app installed on your server. Full instructions here.
