Proton 7.0-6 + workaround 1 for AoE2:DE update 87863
Pre-releaseThis is a prebuilt custom release of Proton 7.0-6 that includes a smart but ugly workaround to allow running Age of Empires II : Definitive Edition update 87863.
Important: I provide absolutely no guarantee about anything, use it at your own risk, or better: don't use it. This could damage your computer, kill your dog, put your house on fire or even worse, get your account banned from playing AoE2:DE.
Also important: don't run programs shared on the internet by someone you don't know. Prefer building from the source code yourself by following the instructions (just add git checkout --recurse-submodules proton_7.0 after cd proton to base your custom build on Proton 7.0).
You've be warned. Have fun!
Note 1: this prebuilt release is an alternative to the one based on Proton 8.0-2 that should not require Vulkan 1.3. If your GPU supports Vulkan 1.3, you probably want to use the other prebuilt release.
Note 2: it seems that with this new build, the game crashes on startup the first time, but it doesn't crash when you restart it.
