Could this plugin support WordPress shortcodes? Tweet, YouTube etc. shortcodes would be very useful for livebloggers especially as Twitter.com has the shortcode in the Tweet embed.

Mohammad Jangda mjangda Allow OEmbed and shortcodes in liveblog entries.
Pass our entry content through do_shortcode and autoembed to allow easy embedding of rich media.

Also include a filter so this can be disabled in contexts where it's not necessary (or desired).

Original WP.org forum post that led to this issue --> http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-liveblog-twitter-oembed-not-displayed. If any enhancement is done directly to Liveblog, I'm willing to test. Thanks!

Robert Wade

I don't know if I understand the original question. I added in shortcodes directly to the live blog in the frontend and it displays the shortcodes just fine after page refresh.

Paul M. Watson

@Bwade it shouldn't require a page refresh, it is meant to be a live blog. Also when I last tried the shortcodes stayed as shortcodes, didn't expand into embeds.

Robert Wade

I totally agree with that comment, "It is live and shouldn't require a refresh". I have been testing for some time now and the end user will see the embed and not the shortcode. The refresh is only for Admin. I would love to see this get fixed so when I, as admin, post a shortcode that it renders the embed.

@Bwade @paulmwatson The GitHub issue doesn't match the original WP.org issue I posted. The issue wasn't with shortcodes -- it was with oEmbeds not resolving. See my previous comment above for the link to the WP.org forum post that spawned this GitHub issue.
