Site Pages, Posts: Simple Site only, Calypso shows no content but WP Admin shows OK

Steps to reproduce

1. Starting at https://wordpress.com/pages/ look for the page titled Trail and Beach Rides (1 hour) (its not in the list of site pages)
2. Search for the page using page search option and it appears
3. Navigate to seasidenaturepark.com/wp-admin -> Pages and the page is displayed within the wp-admin list of pages

What I expected

The same list of pages should be present in both Calypso and wp-admin

What happened instead

The Trail and Beach Rides (1 hour) page is only available in wp-admin

More info: the page is present in the API response when fetching the pages and is loaded initially. It is when the pages get rearranged and change from the format with - to indicate a child page to the indented layout that the page gets lost. • I can duplicate this issue on a test site. I imported the user's content to one of my sites and the issue still occurred.
• changing the child page to a parent page does nothing
• when another page is published (any public or private page) the page in question (Trail and Beach Rides) reappears. When the new page is deleted the Trail page disappears again.

That last point made me wonder if it was a glitch that only affected the last page when there are 30 pages, but I created 30 pages on an empty test site and made some of them child pages, and they all showed consistently.

I have another case of this in https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/phantom-pages/

In this case the site has 28 pages, including five private and one draft. The missing pages are all parent pages.

I can also see the flash of the page in the initial Pages load before it disappears. Asked the user to confirm if adding a new page makes any difference.

I found a similar instance of this error on letbui.wordpress.com (zen-2555138).

The user has over 600 pages which are accessible via wp-admin but not visible in Calypso.

This is only happening to "Published" pages. Drafts and trashed pages are showing up correctly in Calypso.

I have another instance of this issue today:

A user reached out to us in live chat about missing pages on their site. During the course of the chat, I noticed that Calypso wasn't loading correctly for me either.

Even though the site is on a WordPress.com Premium plan, the dashboard issue is similar to a WordPress.com Business plan site with a broken Jetpack connection.

This seems to be similar to #32232

Steps to reproduce

1. Starting at Site > Pages in the user's WordPress.com dashboard;
2. Check for published, and draft pages.
3. Compare listed pages with WP Admin.

What I expected

When opening the WordPress.com dashboard, and clicking through to Site > Pages, the user expected to see pages that they had created.

What happened instead

Instead, they don't see any pages listed, like this:

I was able to reproduce this on my side.

The user's user agent is as follows: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/80.0.3987.132 Safari/537.36

They appeared to be using Chrome in their screenshots in live chat.

I'm using Firefox Developer Edition, v75.0b1.

I encountered a similar instance of this error on an AT Site: tradingatoz.net

The page was called "Leverage" and when we searched in Calypso we could find it, but it would NOT show on Site > Pages:
https://d.pr/i/WXZKUr instead it would FLASH for the briefest moment when you loaded the Pages page.

We recreated the Leverage page and this DID show.

I can still recreate this on letbui.com / zen-2555138.

However I see no site activity in the last 12 months - and there are 900+ pages most with similar titles. I'm closing this as a won't-fix. we can reopen it if we hear further from the user.
