Adding Blockchain Artifact Library to Azure DevTest Labs

The best and fastest way to use Blockchain in a DevTest Lab is to create a Blockchain DevTest Lab directly from the Azure Marketplace. Simply type "Blockchain" into the search and select a new DevTestLabs for Blockchain as a Service.

To add the Blockchain as a Service Artifact Library to your Azure DevTest lab is easy. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign into the Azure portal: http://portal.azure.com

  2. Locate DevTest labs. You may need to Browse> for it in the Azure portal left hand Nav

  3. Create a new DevTest lab or edit the settings of an existing lab

  4. In the DevTest Lab settings Add a new Artifact Repository

  1. Name your repository.
  2. The Git Clone URI is: https://github.com/Azure/azure-blockchain-projects.git
  3. The Folder Path is: baas-artifacts
  4. The Branch can be blank or master
  5. The Personal Access Token is: <INSERT YOUR PERSONAL ACCESS TOKEN> see below if you don't have one

  1. Now when you can add the BaaS artifacts to your VMs on creation or by Right Clicking and existing VM and select Apply Artifact

Getting your GitHub personal access token for step #9

  1. Sign in to GitHub

  2. Select your personal settings

  1. Select Personal Access Tokens

  1. Select Generate new token

  1. Name your token and grant Read access to public_repo

  1. Select Generate Token at the bottom

  2. Copy the key into your clipboard and paste for step #9. Also, store the key somewhere if you want to use it later.
