  1. TableNodes are useful for setting up data fixtures within a .feature file.

It would be nice to have a way to specify which table rows "passed". Currently, it's all or nothing, i.e. the entire table shows up either all green or all red.

  1. Similarly, when steps are chained, and one fails, there's no visual indicator.

  • Chained steps are not part of the core anymore for Behat 2.3
  • For table nodes, the reporter has no way to know which part of it was handled by the step implementation. This is part of code written by Behat users so I don't think we should force them to report partial progress of the step logic here.

  • @stof meant 3.0, not 2.3
  • event though clear progress is not possible by the reasons @stof highlighted in previous comment, there is a way to show something really close to "progress" in the outline row. And cucumber does it. I'm in the middle of reworking pretty formatter in 3.0 which will do the same

We dropped chained steps in 3.0 out of the core. Because they were making both formatters and your contexts very complicated
