Remove Windows Installer, Update Installation Steps #102

Windows will still be supported, but there will be no standalone binaries provided moving forwards to simplify distribution and licensing.

Originally, the Windows installer was provided for Windows users that included all dependencies. This will be changed so that Windows users need to install from source, like Linux, for the following reasons:

  • When this project was created, OpenCV binaries were not available via pip - they are now, so installing from source on Windows becomes possible now without much difficulty
  • The project requires both ffmpeg and/or mkvtoolnix for full video splitting capabilities, which I do not want to have to distribute specific versions of with PySceneDetect (nor force a specific tool upon end users)
  • The binaries just become rather large due to all the dependencies; to solve this, the actual scene detection algorithms are being transitioned to a new program called SceneStats written in C++ to address this issue, which will not be required by PySceneDetect, but will replace its dependency on OpenCV if available (due to SceneStats using OpenCV internally)

If anyone has any questions or feels that the Windows builds/installers actually did have some useful value, please feel free to voice your opinion here.

Thank you.

Edit: After writing this, a new project has sprung up:
https://github.com/indygreg/PyOxidizer
I'll give that one more shot before ditching Windows .exes all together for now.
