This is the current method signature:

public Class<Serializable> getFetchRestrictionRoot(AdminUser currentUser, Class<Serializable> ceilingEntity, List<FilterMapping> filterMappings)

The intention is so that you can do things like:

public Class<Serializable> getFetchRestrictionRoot(AdminUser currentUser, Class<Serializable> ceilingEntity, List<FilterMapping> filterMappings) {
    return MyProduct.class;
}

But the interface contract is too specific; that will return an error.

The method signature needs to change to instead have this:

public Class<? extends Serializable> getFetchRestrictionRoot(AdminUser currentUser, Class<Serializable> ceilingEntity, List<FilterMapping> filterMappings)
