Buck Linux Compiled CLI Wallet/Node Binaries
This release is pre-compiled Linux CLI binaries for those who do not want to compile the binaries themselves.
# First, install libtool apt-get update apt-get install libtool # Download the ZIP file on this page (two files are inside, zcashd and zcash-cli From your home/<user> directory create a folder named buck mkdir buck # Place the two unziped buck files in the <buck> directory you just created # Depending on your setup you may need to modify permissions (OPTIONAL). From your home directory: chmod -R +x buck/ # In your home/<user> directory create a directory named <.zcash-params> mkdir .zcash-params # Download sprout-proving.key & sprout-verifying.key files and place them in the <.zcash-params> directory https://z.cash/downloads/sprout-proving.key https://z.cash/downloads/sprout-verifying.key # in your home/<user> directory create a new folder named .buck mkdir .buck # Change to the .buck directory cd .buck # Create a new file named buck.conf nano buck.conf # Insert the following into the new buck.conf file addnode=184.108.40.206 addnode=220.127.116.11 addnode=18.104.22.168 addnode=22.214.171.124 addnode=126.96.36.199 addnode=188.8.131.52 addnode=184.108.40.206 addnode=220.127.116.11 addnode=18.104.22.168 addnode=22.214.171.124 addnode=126.96.36.199 addnode=188.8.131.52 # To save this new file, hit CTRL-X, then Y to save new file. # Change back to your home/<user> folder cd .. # Start Buck ~/buck/zcashd # The node will download blocks. You are now running a Buck node and wallet! # Optional # If you want to run Buck in the background, start buck with the -daemon flag: ~/buck/zcashd -daemon # To stop Buck safely if it is running in daemon, close the application with zcash-cli stop ~/buck/zcash-cli stop
