Please edit /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf (with sudo) and change the two following thing in the nvidia driver section :
Module=nvidia -> Module=nvidia-current.

kosas commented Aug 16, 2012

I changed ... And what next?
I understand that you do not have the support of the drivers?

Owner

Lekensteyn commented Aug 16, 2012

Then restart bumblebeed using sudo restart bumblebeed. Bumblebee works with it, but in some cases it's necessary to change the default config.

kosas commented Aug 16, 2012

optirun status
[ 210.095933] [ERROR]The Bumblebee daemon has not been started yet or the socket path /var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect.
[ 210.096118] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running?

Owner

ArchangeGabriel commented Aug 16, 2012

Yes, sorry, that's because the change are depending from where you're get the driver.

So in fact, change KernelDriver=nvidia-current to KernelDriver=nvidia and Driver= by Driver=nvidia and reboot.

Owner

Lekensteyn commented Aug 16, 2012

What distro? grep -C5 bumblebeed /var/log/syslog on Ubuntu. For Arch, don't forget to start the daemon sudo rc.d bumblebeed start.

Owner

ArchangeGabriel commented Aug 16, 2012

Lekensteyn, that's juste because I've indicated changes for xorg-edgers but apparently is x-updates one. ;)

kosas commented Aug 16, 2012

Let's face it. Too many options ...
Driver = nvidia
KernelDriver = nvidia
Module = nvidia-current
Right?

Owner

ArchangeGabriel commented Aug 16, 2012

Yeah, I agree with you, too many options, we're working right now on cleaning that. ;)

You setup is correct, note that Module isn't used anymore in fact.

Owner

Lekensteyn commented Aug 16, 2012

Module was never used, it was just a small (confusing) mistake to add it to the example configuration file.

kosas commented Aug 17, 2012

Do I understand that the solutions for the driver 304.37 so far?
If so, tell me how to revert to 302.17 as daemon on 304.37 bumblebee does not work, the laptop heats up.

Owner

ArchangeGabriel commented Aug 17, 2012

Bumblebee does not work if it's not correctly configured. Did you try the changes I wrote above ?

kosas commented Aug 17, 2012

I did, but why ruzultat same. You could not throw me a working version bumblebee.conf

Owner

ArchangeGabriel commented Aug 17, 2012

You did reboot after ? What's you current bumblebee.conf ?

Strange, can you post the output of lspci -nn? Try shutting the machine down, pulling the battery and leave it for a minute or so. Then try again.

It should work, try starting bumblebeed again sudo start bumblebeed and then run optirun glxspheres

Thank you! After disconnecting the battery, has earned a bumblebee!
